OUR STUDY

There have been multiple studies on individual characteristics and operations on owner managers. However, there are knowledge gaps related to the challenges these entrepreneurs encounter when entering and building their ventures and the best practices for providing realistic solutions for these issues/challenges. This proposed project will address these gaps using an organizational framework, which addresses drivers for adoption of the corporate strategies and strategy implementation process.


BACKGROUND

Although there have been reports about trends related to businesses and the characteristics of leaders who are becoming entrepreneurs, there are knowledge gaps related to the challenges these founders encounter when entering and building their ventures and the best practices for providing realistic solutions for these issues/challenges. This proposed project will address these gaps using an organizational framework. This performance model is a composite model developed from the Principal Investigator’s previous work, where desirable performance occurs with a champion and his or her leadership team, which is characterized by its strategic emphases, relational embeddedness, and resource commitment.
